Just wondered if anyone buys frozen bread dough instead of buying fresh loaves? I found a 5 pack of bread dough for $4.68, less than $1/loaf. That was cheaper than the store brand bread which isn't really that good so I bought it to try out.

I buy frozen bread dough... I let it thaw overnight in the fridge, and then bake it whenever I get a chance the next day. It tastes *wonderful* and the house smells *so* good... besides, there's nothing quite like fresh, warm bread!

I've been buying frozen dough since I don't have time to bake bread fresh any more. Between going to school full time and homework there isn't much time for anything else. Since I plan my meals I know when I'm going to bake it and I get it out the night before and thaw it in the frig overnight. It takes just like fresh homemade bread without all the extra work.

I only buy it when it's on sale, and only to make "Monkey Bread" as a treat for my kids. Otherwise, I buy whole wheat. My goal is to start experimenting with making my own this summer.

It is also great to thaw out and use for cinnamon rolls, or calzones.
