Went shopping Saturday morning, I thought I'd buy whole wheat flour (to be healthier), and right before I paid, I noticed the price on the screen...$4.39 for a bag of whole wheat flour! I don't know about anyone else, but I just couldn't believe it. I told the cashier to take it off my bill, that I couldn't pay that much for a bag of flour. I don't bake that often, so I was shocked. I'm in MA. Truthfully, I don't even know the price of regular flour, so this knocked me for a loop!

I think I'm in sticker shock each week when I hit the grocery store! I read in the paper this week that since the cost of corn has increased to $6/bushel that everything from beef & chicken to sodas will be going up. Coffee has gone up to over $10 for Folgers or Maxwell House unless it's on sale. It's getting ridiculous!

I'm in sticker shock each week when I go to the grocery store too. I can not believe how much the price of things go each week. I try to cut back as much as I can but the total price is the same or more. I agree it is ridiculous!!!

well, I don't know where in GA you're from, georgia mom but all of our local truckers went on strike and I know that's really going to increase the food prices....

I too feel your pain, walking out of the grocery store makes me want to cry. I do have to say that the whole wheat flour at Wal-mart King Arthur is only $2.50 a bag here though.

I shop at our commissary and the prices are going up there as well. My coffee went from $1.84 to $2.99 in the last month. I have really cut back on what I buy now.

If anyone is a coffee drinker like me, you have noticed that the price of coffee has gone up. Dunkin Donuts brand is 6.99/lb at the supermarket and 8.99/lb at the store. Two other local coffee chains sell theirs for 9.99/lb. I remember when you could get two lbs. for 10.99!

I have switched to the store brand which is 3.99/lb and just as good. I buy flavored and I am pretty finicky about my coffee.

Prices are rediculous (SP). Last summer I could get bananas for .25 per lb. Now, they cost me .65 lbs. Coffee has gotten crazy too. I use to drink about a 6 cup pot of coffee every day. Now I am lucky if I drink it once a week. I just bought a 4 lb box of rice at Sams and now I am wishing I would have bought another one. Sam's is over 60 miles away so I know I will not be going for a while.
