One of the tastiest cheap meals we have is this:
Garlic Chicken & Pasta
2-4 chicken breasts (this is the most expensive part-buy them on sale!)
angel hair pasta
garlic cloves
olive oil
Parm cheese

-Cut chicken into cubes and saute in about 1/2 cup olive oil. With 5 or so minutes left, add 5-7 garlic cloves and continue sauting. don't the garlic burn! Sometimes I do it in a seperate skillet because of this.
-Cook pasta according to directions, drain and return to pot. Pour cooked chicken, garlic, and oil over pasta. Serve sprinkled with Parm. cheese.

Lentils, Onion, Brown Rice and Chicken broth. Healthy filling and Cheap!

I use about a cup of rice, a cup of lentils, four cups of broth and an onion chopped finely. You can also saute the onion in a bit of olive oil and/or butter and add the rice to brown in that same oil. Then add broth. Brown rice and lentils cook in about the same amount of time. I like brown rice for is chewiness factor.

I saw Ramen Noodles but not this one:

Chicken flavored Ramen Noodles (I do about 5 packs- my kids LOVE them)
Chicken- any (the cheapest)

Boil Chicken until VERY tender. I add some spices now. Leave water and chicken and throw in Ramen noodles. Cook another 3 minutes. Done.

Also, if you shop right, you can make Kraft Mac and Cheese Lasagna but use cheap brand mac and cheese.

1 or 2 boxes Mac and Cheese
1 jar/can spaghetti sauce
1 lb ground meat
cheese (optional)

cook everything. Layer in cassarole dish: noodles, meat, sauce, noodles, meat, sauce. Top with cheese if have on hand. Bake until heated throughout.
