Anyone started doing this????

I've put together a major list of the things I use and the prices they are @ each store I shop at it.....size,ounces etc.

this makes it alot easier to find a bargain and comparison shop at Sams Club.
Or even if I come accross something at the clearance stores.

With really watching prices, making the most of sales and shopping at places I didnt use to normally shop at it gets to be alot to remember...and although it was definately work at first...this in itsself can be a huge moneysaver.

I've been wanting to do this (kind of like cleaning out the filing cabinet and visiting the dentist--tends to get put off!).

So, if I manage to stop procrastinating, do you have any pointers? Is yours just a notebook, or have you set up a spreadsheet? Do you include in the list the store brands and the all of the different varieties of things?

Sorry to ask so many questions! I'm just so impressed!

This actually IS kinda like decluttering the filing cabinet....you finally build up the nerve to tackle it ,head to the store with pen and paper...the doors open and you are suddenly overwhelmed with where to even start!!!???(at least that's how I felt )...and if that isn't enough...ya kinda feel like the ENTIRE store is watching you (they're not BUT it feels like it)

My strategy was 1 aisle at a time.(doing the entire store in 1 trip is virtually impossible not to mention exhausting)

one GREAT tip...is if you have a Mom,sister, friend whatever who wants to do it too....it's exceptionally nice to just get someone on the phone and they can write while youre walking the aisles and calling off the info.(after I did my whole reg grocery store...it hit me to call Mom for Wal Mart )

I just came home typed it up on microsoft word doc(nothing fancy)and I left space between to fill in for anything I found at diff stores. It's not an overly fancy or complicated looking list...but it has saved me money.(plus when you save it in word or something you can type in newer things you find and just print off a new list)

and yes I did include store brand prices.

and,by all means, ask anything you wanna know.I am happy to help if I can.

I too did this - I included Wal-Mart, Aldi's BJ's, and 2 other local grocery stores. It is helpful because I when I get the sale flyers I can cross reference and see if it is really a good sale.

Kudos to you!!! This really sounds like the way to really get the best price with your coupons. I'll have to work up the courage to do it!
