The Settlement Cookbook is good too. It has lots of recipes for things that now we depend on a mix for, like biscuits and cakes. I love the cookbooks that call for scratch items. Just look at the thrift store for cookbooks 50 years old or more and you will find many that do not rely on mixes or canned items.
Or, do the modern thing and look online.
