I can buy Annie's organic mac and cheese 4 for $5 at Target instead of $1.99 a box at the grocery stores. This week I bought organic milk (their brand) for $3 a half gallon and it tastes great. The Horizon was $4.09. Entenman's muffins are at least $1 cheaper there, juice box packs are at least $1 cheaper, and bread is too. I never used to buy food there, but ever since I have started paying attention, I have found lots of great deals.
That is actually great advice!!!We do have a good handful of vegetarians here and people who prefer organics...so great post

I find great deals on food at SuperTarget. They are always clearancing things out, so I always keep an eye on their freezer and deli endcaps. Last week I bought a 18lb. spiral cut ham for $6.24 and a Butterball turkey for 5.74! I just freeze them, and use them throughout the summer for family get togethers and BBQ's. This week they had alot of their organic (Muir Glen) salsa, chips and black bean and spinach artichoke dips on clearance for .84, so I stocked up to use throughout the summer too.

I always start my grocery shopping at Dollar General.

I can buy a 4lb. bag of sugar there for $1.65. (All day, every day. I've never seen the price higher than that.) This comes out to $.41/lb. Whereas I saw GV brand sugar today at Walmart priced at $2.44 for a 5lb. bag, which equals almost $.49/lb. So, I saved $.79 just by buying sugar at Dollar General.

I can also buy 1.87oz. (53g) bottles of garlic powder, onion powder, etc. for $.50 at Dollar General - compared to the Dollar Tree, which has 2oz. (57g) bottles for $1.

The Dollar Tree does have some great stuff, though. Alot of it is name brand too and cheaper than both Dollar General or Walmart. (Pretzel logs, for one, for $1!!) I just don't go there enough to really know what they have on a constant basis. I do know that all their spices are $1 though. That's why I'm always sure to buy the basic ones (like garlic and onion powder) at Dollar General. Not that much of a selection, but for the basics you can't beat it!!

I find lots of great bargains at Amelia's. I buy my cereal, poptarts and snacks there, as well as some meats and canned good. I also check the meat cases at my local market (I shop Giant) for marked down meats and stock up when there is a good buy. For cleaning supplies, I have found that Walmart has the best prices.

I have to second Big Lots - love, love it there. Curves cereal for $1!! Can't beat it -- same size in one grocery store near me was 2/$6 and the other had it for $3.50!! For the exact same thing!

I wish our Target had a bigger food section.

I am going to have to hit the dollar store to check out some of the food items -- I don't buy certain brands for certain items, but it cannot hurt to see what they have. I drive right past it when I go to a thousand other places.

the 99 cent store by my house has organic canned veggies for 99cents and sometimes when the date is almost expired two for 99 cents. and canned veggies last a long time after the ex date. we like fresh or frozen, but in a pinch.. you can not beat the price. They are a 1.99 at the supermarket by our house.

Aldi's is still the best deal breaker for me.

I do get my vanilla coffee creamer at Dollar Tree or Dollar General for $1.00.
