Since DH works late often, leftovers are a staple go to dinner item for DD and I. We also eat them for lunch. I hardly ever make something new with them, unless it is a veggie that I throw in with a pasta dish or something like that.

I very rarely have leftovers...it think it depends a lot on how you cook, what you make etc.

If I do have leftovers, it's typically meat. I usually eat it the next day for lunch. I not only don't have enough for the next days dinner, I just wouldn't serve them again for a meal for my family. Just not my thing.

I don't have a clean out the fridge day...because there isn't anything to clean out. LOL

We usually have leftovers for lunch the next day. If its a lot of leftovers, we may have it as a second dinner a couple of days later. I really try not to waste food and have gotten better, but I have not perfected the art. So, usually once a week, I will go thru the fridge to see if there is anything needing to be thrown out.

This is us too. My mom and sister go out to eat all the time and are always bringing by styrofoam containers with leftovers too (I really hate styrofoam).

My fridge cleanout days are always the day before the trash comes and it's only to get rid of leftovers that aren't eaten and throw them away.

I don't remake leftovers into other meals because I'm just not that creative.

We will actually have the same dinner two nights in a row or twice in a week if there are enough leftovers. We aren't that picky.

If its not enough leftovers for another meal than DH will take it for lunch, or I will feed it to the kids for dinner and DH & I might make something else.

If I think about it in advance sometimes I will freeze leftovers for another meal later in the month.

Left overs in my house never last long - normally they are in dh lunch tin that evening. Anything left over from that is in my brothers stomach before 8 the next morning.

If I intend to have that food left over for another meal, I have to dish it up and basically hide it until its cool enough to freeze it, or its gone.

We will eat things like chili or spaghetti leftovers the next day. Other stuff I will eat for lunch during the week. One thing I do tend to "recreate" is anytime I have one chicken breast or chop or something of the sort I will make fried rice with it. I just saute the meat with onion, garlic, cooked rice, soy sauce and a handful of frozen peas if I have them. Then I scramble up an egg and throw it in until cooked. Good stuff!

I try to be creative with other stuff as well. Like leftover roast I will turn into stroganoff etc. If I have things like alot of cooked chicken or turkey or sliced ham I will freeze it for later for casseroles and such.
