I was buying it for DH for work premixed in bottles until I did a simple mathematical figuring and found that big can of powdered mix was $10 and would make 5 gallons, vs $4/gallon premixed. I saved myself 50%! DH says it doesn't taste any different (well, once you put ALL the water in it -- he drank some other day that wasn't fully diluted! ) than the premixed stuff. I just mix a gallon up in a spring water jug I kept.

Wow - I just came back from Big Lots to find your post!! Too funny - long story short, my kids ALWAYS beg me to buy this for them because "all the other kids" have it for drinking after their games and practices, but I just can't get beyond the crazy prices, so I rarely buy it. So today while at BL, I found a 3.3 lbs bag of Fruit Punch flavored Gatorade (makes 6 gallons) for 4.99!! Sooo cheap, so I had to pick it up. It is the kind that is meant to have the whole bag dumped into one of those big plastic jugs like you see on the sidelines at football games and such, but I put it in some old Kool aid containers to make it more manageable and so they can make it by the glass. This should get us through most of the summer...

At our house, Gatorade is for when the kids are sick. We buy it premade as we wait until it's on sale and it comes out just a little more than the powder.

i only buy it when its on sale here (710 ml size)...when they go 2 for $1 then i buy several and they are stored( hidden) and they kids can have them for a treat or for track and field day( which is coming up fast). i hate the taste of it myself.

When we purchase gatorade it's in the powder can mix. It saves money and space for storing.

lol I was wondering about hot water?? LOL too funny...I drink it once in a great while but I only get the Gatorade Rain cuz its more "mellow" to me Gatorade is so harsh & leaves an after taste. I get it for the kids sometimes but only when the 32oz bottles go on sale for 10/$10.

I don't buy it. We drink iced tea, lemonade, and a lot of water. Of course, I drink coffee pretty much all day long, hot or iced.

My kids get Gatorade when some other mom brings it for team snack. lol
