Why am I Thinking I Read Somewhere it is Not Ok To Do


This Would Be ideal , Since we Have Great Tasting well Water .
I Could Keep Refilling them for the Kids - with Water and Other Drink Mixes

My Kids Love individual Bottles More than Anything. And this Would Be great For Dh , Who Goes through About a 12 pk a week of Flavored h20

But I Wanted to Add - I Am Talking About the Thin Plastic Store Bought individual Water Bottles - Like Poland Spring or Aquafina , etc.

I have heard that you are not supposed to, they harbor too much bacteria. Sports bottles would be better IMO.

I wonder if that is something to do with the type of plastic. Wonder what we be different about washing an aquafina bottle every day over washing a sports bottle...I'm going to have to research this. lol

Thats What I was Thinking Too.

I Thought I Heard info About the Plastic bottles not Being Ok , But I Can't See How They would Be much Different From Re- using those Cheap Plastic Sports Bottles that You can Get.


I Know that I Really Should Stick with an actual Good Sports Bottle.
But I know My Kids Drink Much More Water When their Is a Row Of bottles To Choose From. Plus Dh And My Kids Leave their Water Bottles everywhere- So I thought this Would Be a Cheaper Way.
I Also Am Really tired Of Wasting Money on bottled water For Convience.

We totally reuse our (many, many times)....we make sure that each person uses the same one that they started with.....and we put them through the dishwasher every-so-often.


Everyone in my family is still healthy, and alive and kicking......so I say that it is fine to reuse them.

I just read somewhere that it is safe but you have to be sure to wash them after each use. I put them in the dishwasher and keep using them until they get soft and lose their shape, then I throw them away.

I remember hearing once that something happens to the storebought bottles of water when they're exposed to the sun, and that you're not supposed to leave them in hot cars. I'll have to see if I can find that again.

I think the problem with washing them, is that most people dont!!! They just refil because it is just water. I would say if you run them through the dish washer it should be fine.
