I'm not in BC, but you can "stack" at London Drugs. It means if you have coupons for the same item, but each coupon has a different UPC, and they don't say "only one coupon per purchase" they can be used together.

That's how I understand it, but I'm not BC, and never put it into action, so it may be slightly different. If you look up stacking london drugs, there's some people explaining it.

Yeah, I have heard of being able to do that at London Drugs too, but when I investigated BC and AB, I found they will not accept them in those provinces.

Thanks.

I'm in Ontario too so I'm not much help and when I lived in BC for three years, that was before my 'frugal years'. I hope more post. I know we have a couple of British Columbians on the site here.

i am in ontario too and we do not have a london drug here in our city....i wish we had a no frills as my sister gets some great bargains at the one near her( and her store is an hour away from me and when i go to visit i stock up too). price choppers here does not seem any better then food basics. even the farmers market is pricey at times!

I have found that farmer's markets can be very pricey. It depends if they look at their produce as "value added" or not. With the 100 mile diet and other trends to reduce gas usage, lately a lot of farmer's market suppliers have jacked their prices because their produce is "local" and so worth "more". I just check out more than one. Goodness, this weekend, we went to one and one booth had bundles of rhubarb for $2, I would estimate the bundles were about 4 to 5 lbs... big hug stalks and there was 6 of them... And two booths down another lady was selling the same kind at 1 dollar a pound. It all depends on how the farmer views their products...

I just browse throughout, because i have yet to discover a farmer's market where I couldn't at least find 1 deal on veggies.

As for cheap stores... The best I have out here is superstore. We have a Costco, but as I compare prices there is not a huge difference between the two. Depressing. I really want to suck down our grocery bill. Even with a picky eater, there has to be some way!!! I am so jealous of the ladies who can get a weeks worth of groceries for 30 to 50 dollars!!!

I'm in BC and we live in a small town so we shop at Real Canadian Wholesale (a spinoff of superstore) and Save-On. I can shop so cheaply at Save-On. If you have one I would recommend going there. They often have dollar days and that really helps. And their store brand stuff is soooo cheap and it's actually tastes as good or better than name brand.
