1...look in places other than wal mart and your reg grocery store(Aldis is cheapest here, generally)but look the next time you get gas at a convenient mart also.(and ask, surprisingly alot of those convenient marts take coupons )

2...try cutting back to skim...if you drink whole or even 2 % if you do this slowly you don't notice a difference after a while(we cut back slowly and now none of us can even drink anything else...whole tastes almost THICK)Fat Free/Skim IS cheapest.

3...don't OVER estimate how good milk is for your kids...(Risks of Drinking Too Much Milk)

4...if you coupon...look for "wyb" coupons(aka "when you buy")a while back Ebay had a ton of different coupons for 1.50-2.00 off milk wyb(diff prod)coupons. The key,of course,is finding a coupon to get the $$ off when buying a product you can use.(A while back I got $2 off milk wyb 3 puddings...yeah $2 off milk and used the pudding for snacks)

I usually have luck at either CVS ($4.19) or those quickie marts--prices are much better than my grocery store. My grocery store occasionally runs a sale on milk--right now a gallon of skim is $3.99. I have friends who "do the deals" at CVS and then buy their milk with their Extra Care Bucks.

Wow, $4 for milk? Market Basket in MA has milk for $2.99...it's been this price for a long time (thank goodness).

$4 for milk seems crazy to me. I can usually still get it for about $2.50 on sale or between that and $3 at Sam's Club. I really hope milk doesn't get that high around here.

We can usually get it for 2/$5 at Walmart because the two grocery stores do that on rotating weeks and Walmart just automatically marks it down instead of having to price match it. That is the best that I have seen it. When that is not going on I usually pay about $3.49 a gallon. Aldis is an extra 10 minute drive so when I go there I can get it for about $2.89. We drink solely Skim milk. So I know that if I bought 1 or 2% it would sit in the fridge. I guess that would save me some money.

I ususally get mine at our convenience store/gas station (Kwik Trip). They sell it in 1/2 gal bags, but it regularly turns out to be about $2.78/gal. WalMart and HyVee around here are $3.50-4.00/gal

We really don't use that much milk at my house. If I buy a gallon it will go bad before it's gone. So I usually buy 1/2 gallons and right now Krogers has 1/2 gallons 4/$5... Compaired to $4 a gallon that seems pretty good!
