Remember to always check for meat that has been marked down!!

Today I'm grocery shopping and I pick up the 5.5lb of hamburger like I always do. It has gone up in price by $2! Then I notice that the 'tube' of ground beef is marked down from 5.66 to 3.96. Its 3lbs! I grabbed 3 of them! SO I bought 9lbs of ground beef for roughly the same price as the 5.5lb 'fresh' beef.

Just wondering but is there a difference in the taste? My DH is very picky.

NOPE, no diffrence! I was worried too because I ussually buy the one wrapped in the plastic package, but this one is fine! The only thing I noticed is that is wasn't as 'tough' as the fresh one, its a bit more tender. But last night I made a shepard's pie for supper and a meatloaf for tonight and they were GREAT. Dh loved it and didn't even notice a diffrence. I still have 7 lbs left!

I figured it out to about 1.20 a lb! You can't beat that! I hope they have more next week, I gotta figure out when thier discount day is. I'm thinking maybe its Saturday afternoon? they also had a rack in the back with all thier discounted bakery stuff too. I bought some donut holes for $1 and one of those frosted brownie cakes for $3. Saved about $1.50 on each of them.

Did you find These in the Frozen Meat Section?

Honestly I Have Never even Looked in that section , in all 8 Yrs. I Have Gone to walmart! -

I Have Many Times Bought fresh Meat that was Reduced at Walmart.

I Think it is Always Saturday nights that I find my Stuff too!

I Buy Most Of My Meat From a local Market, But Occasionally I Will Need A Meat For a BBQ or Something , and that Is when i venture Back to Walmarts Fresh Meats.

They Are always Good!!

NO not in the frozen meat section, in the regular meat section. In those reach in coolers that are along the walls.
