Is it possible to make your own cooking spray? To be honest, I was thinking it would be simply put oil in spray bottle & spray as needed?!?! Is that ok, any better/cheaper ideas??
Regular spray bottles don't work very well, but you can get spray bottles that you pump to pressurize - they work pretty well. I got one from Pampered Chef a few years ago. The last one I got was from Amazon.com. You fill them with the oil you want, pump the cover a few times, and spray your pan.
Great question! I was wondering about this the other day after dh wasted 1/2 a can of Pam because he couldnt find the HUGE bottle (got it at Sam's club, so you know it is big!) of Crisco when he wanted to deep fat fry something.

I did this for awhile and it does work but, like was mentioned above, probably getting the special spray bottle. I finally got fed up with mine.
I agree the PC gadget is a good one. Also, if you are interested, I have found a knock-off brand of Pam at Dollar Tree for MUCH less than the groceery store brand. A savings of about .70 for the can...
I have one too...I got it from Williams Sonomo...years and years ago. It's stainless steel and I think, at the time, it was like $10. I've seen the same brand though, in white plastic, at Linens and Things, not sure of the price. The brand is "Misto". Works great.
