I stockpile every week. I shop the ads and match my coupons so I buy as much as I can of whatever is on sale or cheap that week. Then I plan my menus from my pantry.

I try to do it right along -- if I find the good deals I'll go ahead with it.

I do it continually over the year, whenever I see a great deal on something I stock up on it.

This is my first year stockpiling. I'm trying to get a good stockpile on meat, shampoo, toothpaste, soap and pantry items before winter. We heat with all electric so our bill skyrockets in the winter. It will be nice to not have to choose between heat and groceries this year! It's not unusual for our electric bill to be close to $600/mth in the winter.

I do it continually, especially if there's a really good sale on items we use a lot of. I don't buy stuff just to buy it if we don't use it. However, I will do a heavy, full inventory stockpile before Thanksgiving to get us through the holidays and unpredictable winter months. Where I live it seems whenever snow is forecasted, everyone goes into panic mode and rushes to the stores for bread, milk, a shovel and rock salt! It feels good to know we're stocked up and don't have to be in the crowds.

I'd say that canning is a form of stockpiling. You're just not buying the food at a store, but you are putting food up. And it's smart, because you can make whatever you want and can it to have later. I want to learn to can, but haven't found anyone that knows how to use a pressure canner. I'd love to learn how to can my chili!

I do it continuously....the sale prices dictate what I will be buying extra on, and as they rotate on a certain basis, I'm usually pretty covered.

I continuously stockpile too. Whenever I see a good deal on something we regularly use I will buy several. I keep my eyes open for things like peanut butter, oatmeal packets (here in Hawaii they are $4 for a box of 10!), canned veges and sugar on sale. Being military I know when we will leave for our next duty station and when the time starts getting close we cut way back and use as much of our stash as we can. The military will ship unopened food like cans and boxes though, and I've even put flour, sugar and cornmeal into glad storage containers and they have packed and moved them too. Right now my stockpile is a little too big thanks to neighbors moving and donating to me, so I will be using it and only buying milk, eggs and bread.

Hi I'm new here and thought this was a good place to jump in! I add to my stockpile each week. I like to have at least a 3 month supply of food and paper products, hba, etc. If something is on sale that I know we will use I buy a few extra to put in the stockpile!
