How often do you stockpile? Is this a semi annual thing or is this something you continuously do over the course of the year?

We have a Sam's membership and I'm letting it expire this year so on our last month I intent on stocking up on pastas, meats, bread and cleaners. When I do that, I know I am covered for a good six months if not more (especially with the cleaners)

i guess my idea of stockpiling maybe different i do it for about a month. so right now i have a good months worth(except for fresh produce and milk) stocked up i know august is typically a bad month for us so i will continue to stockpile until then. then in september we will be getting low so i will start again. usually in november i do it as well since the holidays are coming.. i have a system kind of.

I do it kind of continuosly, though we do have too much food right now, so I will probably eat it down some. Also, we are typically broke around Sept, Oct (don't know why, it just always seems that way!) So we will use alot of it up then.

Yah I think I'm one of those who does it continually. I check the sale flyers each week, and as long as its stuff we don't NEED atm, I'll buy the sale items with my coupons and go from there.

I do it constantly. Whenever there is a great sale on items that we use a lot, than I stock up as much as I can. I do know that the beginning of the year (Jan to March) are always bad months for us, so I know that I need to be really stocked up well on things. I work at a store that sells some food products so when they have some good deals, I go there and use my discount, that really helps a lot. We have a Sam's club membership too and we go there at least four time a year. I like to get my spices, pasta and frozen goods there. We are still kicking around the idea of getting a 1/2 or 1/4 of a cow too.

It's an on-going thing in our house. We never buy more than we know we'll eat before it expires, but we try to buy as much as we can when a good sale comes around.

For me it is ongoing. I stock up a few items every trip out. A few weeks ago I did BBQ sauce. This week I did dog/cat food. Whatever I have coupons for that are also on sale, or if I see something on a great sale w/o coupons, I will stock up on that item if I have $ to spend.

I also make trips to Sams, less frequently now, but when I do I buy my items that I only get at Sams, such as laundry detergent or PB. Sams was a monthly thing for me but now I go about 4-5 times a year, and make it last.

I would say it is a continuous process and I am not perhaps the typical stockpiler in that I haven't done coupons that much. We do a lot of organic and if it goes on sale I stock up. We shop at Costco and if they have a coupon for an item I need I will buy as many as possible or enough to last until the next sale. I would love to find out more about the seasonal sales -not that much of the stuff that is on sale is usually organic

I also like that I don't have to go to the store if something else comes up - I would say we don' have to go to the store every week except for milk and produce as most of the rest I have in the pantry or freezer. It helps if we are busy or having an expensive week.

I'm never not stockpiling -- though the busy season is just about on me with canning season right around the corner.

We're continuously stockpiling. Whenever there is a sale or coupon on something we use I stock up. The only things I ever run out of are produce, fresh fruit, milk, eggs and yogurt. I do have to be careful about my stockpile since we're military, I don't have more than 3 months at a time of food.
