For those of you that have given up your land line for strictly cell phones: Do you regret it? I have listed the pros and cons, but to me, there are more pros to cancelling that cons.

But, after seven years with the same phone number, I am so reluctant to do it. We rarely use our house phone, however.

So, any regrets???

I just added a 3rd line to my cell phone plan just to keep at home it will be $9.99 a month vs my current $30.00. I had my home phone # ported....Today was literally my first day with it so I can't tell you right now if I will regret or not. I just always wanted a phone to be here with having younger kids....

Had not thought of that option. So you have a third cell phone that you strictly just keep at home?

We dropped our land line but last spring we added it again. Our reception is spotty here but we thought it was adequate. Youngest ds decided to pretend to be a cat and ate the flea medication I had mixed in scrambled eggs and was giving to the kitties. When I tried to call the poison control center, I couldn't get reception anywhere inside the house or out in the yard. Grrr! The one time I HAVE to make a call, our service poops out completely. After that we added the land line for emergencies.

Yes, my sil said she read it a magazine so I thought wow not a bad idea. We get a discount on our cell phone plan through Dhs company so there was no activation fees and we chose the basic free phone. I got the phone last Saturday and the port went though today also no charge.

We dropped ours last year when the gas prices got so high. I never really regretted it but a couple of weeks ago we lowered our cell phone plan to save even more money and I realized with 2 teens in the house we was starting to go over our mins a little. So to solve that problem I ordered magic jack and it works great. The kids can talk to their friends with no worries. It was 49.95 for the jack and a years worth of service.

We haven't had a landline in over 1 year and I have no regrets at all! When we decided to do this, they were able to transfer our home # to my cell phone. Talk with your cell provider about that. That way you will can keep your home #.

We haven't had a land line for around 3 years. We have no regrets. Saved us quite a bit of $$$.

BTW - I have a phone plugged into the land line jack beside my bed in the event we need to call 911.
