I feel like the tp police some days! my ds likes to use tp for his various projects if we don't watch him closely. we limit the tp for each person, depending on their size and the"job" they need the tp for. we also only buy on sale and with coupons.
oh yeah, everytime I use the bathroom, Maggie thinks she needs a "tissue". And she won't except less than a full square. Still trying to figure this one out. I can't use handkerchiefs because she really just wants to throw it in the toilet after "wiping" her nose.

Well I buy my tp at costco. *I* have also started using cloth...I already use cloth pads so it wasn't difficult to make the switch.

I buy Scott 1000 when it is 50 cents a roll. Usually I buy a case at a time when it hits that price point (about twice a year). It is 1000 sheets per roll when standard TP is 175 sheets at 25 cents per roll. I buy Scott 1000 mostly because I hate changing the TP roll.
Other than that we have no restrictions. TP is one of the few disposable products we use (we have cloth napkins, hankerchiefs, etc) so I don't feel too bad about it. We also have a septic tank so I DO remind DD that whatever we waste is going to contribute to having to pump the tank. I don't want to make her nervous about using TP but I also want her to be aware.
Our only exception is hubby. He has a sensitive bum - certified by a doctor. I'm serious. HE has to use a softer TP so I buy the Nothern mega roll for him. It is typically more than 50 cents a roll but I do stock up when I find it on sale. We only put that TP out when hubby is home.

I have found the generic is basically a waste of money, so I never buy it. I watch the sales and keep coupons for those sales. I have been trying to buy Scotts TP it seems to last a lot longer and when I buy it on sale it is fairly reasonably priced. I have never did a price comparison on number of sheets and all, just know how often I have to change the roll in our house. Scott's last the longest. I do buy Charmin or Cottenelle depending on the sales though. CVS and Walgreens usually has a pretty good sale on TP once a month or so. I stock up then.
