Do you keep a To-Do list each day? I have a journal that I date and write in for each day of what needs done for that day and my meals on the bottom. I like to find cute/pretty journals to write in with motivating sayings and such to keep the one thing that I touch each day handy. When I don't take the time to write in my to-do list/journal I feel very disorganized.
Who keeps a TO-DO LIST and do you use a specific notebook or just random pieces of paper?

I can't function without my to do list! I keep it in a small notebook, too, and I have an ongoing list for bigger things, and then a daily list. I keep it in my purse and then by my bed at night - that way when I think of things at night I need to do I can write them down. Before I starting doing that I would lie awake and I think it was because I was afraid I would forget what I was thinking about.

My to-do list used to be written down everyday and I would make it the night before.
Now I have a calander that I put down due dates of assignments, my work days (since I am part-time), playdates for kids, and their activities. The kids (even my 6yr old) know if it isn't on there it probably won't happen. But my 2 do list is in my head for the most part now.

We have a dry erase board in the kitchen. One side is for listing stuff that needs to be done (replace storm door screen, the date the animals are due for their flea and/or heratworm meds, date library items are due, that sort of thing), and the other is for stuff that needs to be bought.
We write things down as we think of them, and erase or update them as we get them done.
Routine stuff doesn't get written down - it just gets done. If it's a day when we need to get 5000 things done before nightfall or we'll turn into pumpkins, then we write it all down.

I write mine down on whatever paper i can find. On it, i write what i need to do each day, ongoing things that need done as well as groceries. whenever i think of something, i jot it down in the appropriate area & look at it about 10 times during the day to make sure i'm staying on track. WOrks for me!

I have a planner that I write EVERYTHING in! I write my cleaning list on my weekly agenda the week before, and then everynight I write tasks down next to it. I feel LOST without my planner! Then bills, appointments, ect. goes on the monthly calender.

I used to keep a small notebook and it helped me get more accomplished each day. Somewhere I lost the habit, so thanks for the reminder! I'm going to go find my notebook now and get back on track. :-)

lol, yes, and it's so aweful. I'm painfully organized. Our to-do list is literally a chart that I print out for the week with two sections: one for daily duties and one for weekly duties. Example: Daily list = feed Oscar, vacuum living room/hallway, empty/fill dishwasher, etc. Weekly list = clean bathroom, take off trash and recycling, clean out fridge. It's an excel sheet that has the days of the week across the top and the list down one side. On the daily list, each thing needs to be checked off by the end of the night. On the weekly list, we check off which day it was done. Each thing has an estimated amount of time it takes to do that task...dh and I are both procrastinators so it's a mental thing. It only takes 3 minutes to clean the litter box or gather all the trash, so at a glance we can see how little time it actually takes to get these daily tasks done.
DH actually likes it because we used to fight all the time about how I had to do everything around the house and his excuse was always "I don't know what needs to be done" (I think it's a male gene). So anyway, now he can just look at it when he has time and do a few of the things on the list.
Plus, we just feel accomplished when all the things are checked off...and our house is kept in somewhat of an order. Hopefully, this will transfer to Kevin as he gets older.
This is kept on the fridge. The calendar is on the wall next to it and a magnetic pad is on the fridge also so we can add things to the grocery list as we need them. Who knows how many times I've had to use dh's deoderant or feed Oscar cat treats for dinner because I forgot to stop and pick up the little things we need.

I usually just write on the back of a piece of junk mail or a receipt when I do a list. I typically only make one when there is a ton to be done. But I really like some of the ideas here...like the dry erase board and the notebook. I think these would really benefit my family and I since it would help me not to run around like a chicken w/ my head cut off and it would help DH see the bigger projects that need to be done! Awesome ideas!

I usually just write it down on a piece of scrap paper at my desk or on the computer on another forum. I like the idea of doing it in a notebook though. I have a few extra journals upstairs. I think I will turn one into a to-do list one! Thanks for the great idea!
