I'm trying to make a list, can you help?

I'm talking years. Foods, cleaning supplies, toiletries, paper products.

And if you do store them, how? In tubs? We have a basement that is for the most part dry but it does get moist and I'm sure can also get critters.

Any tips, suggestions?

TIA!

I keep a heavy supply of canned goods and toliet paper. I don't have a basement but try using some of those big plastic totes that you can get at the dollar store or walmart. I store alot of stuff in those on my back porch. Such as Dog food and cat food. I also have good supply of borax soap, washing soda and fels naptha. I keep these in my laundry room though.

I have a metal can of crackers that someone gave me. It was found in the basement of a local momument. The basement was put in as an evacuation area for residents during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 60's. These crackers are dated Dec. 1961. They had tons of them they were getting rid of I took one just as a souvenior (??? spelling) we openned one up though and the crackers were still fresh. It is kind of weird to have crackers that are fresh that are older than me. LOL. I guess if stored right anything can be saved and stockpiled.

Can't you constantly go into your stockpile to keep things fresh? I'm constantly using stuff from my stash so that it always keeps moving. I'm constantly adding when things are on sale but I'm also always taking from it too.
This is what I currently have on the 3 big shelving units in my basement (thankfully never damp):
soap
laundry soap
laundry softener (liquid & sheets)
various cleaning products that were on sale
toilet paper
toothpaste (this stuff expires who knew LOL so be careful)
shampoo
q-tips
kleenex
papertowel
plastic wrap, foil, wax & parchment paper, Ziplocs
mason jars
a ton of those twist top semi-disposable plastic container (forget the brand)
glass spice bottles
baking powder
baking soda
vinegar
oil
flour~ ww, ap and cake & pastry
pasta~ all varieties
cereal
jam
peanut butter
cookies
broth (chicken, beef, veg)
boxes and boxes of freezies
spag sauce
various canned veggies~ tomatoes, corn, beans, carrots...
rice~ different types (white, brown, basmati...)
packets of dips, salad dressings, gravies
jello
pudding
beans~ dry and canned varieties
Then I have a whole section dedicated to my protein powders, vitamins and other health stuff that I use and stock up on when the prices are right!
