There are a few bills that I pay over the phone or online. However most of mine I do still mail a check for, as the companies charge extra to pay online or over the phone.

I pay all my bills on line the 2 that I would have to mail. Water and garbage the city has 2 locations for brop boxes for them and I will just drop them off when I go past them (one the way to the grochery store) I only use stamps now for birthday cards.

I'm horrible with my check book and I always screwed it up waiting for the money to be taken out for the bill. THIS is SOOOOOO much easier.

As of right now, I sent a check out for ds to play soccer, almost a month ago and it STILL Has not come back to my bank. In the meantime, I keep forgetting about it, and have 'almost' spent that $70 several times!
That's why I prefer online banking...I hate waiting for cheques to clear!!!!!! I never even really thought of the savings by not buying stamps.

I pay almost everything online or as a draft from our checking. I have one bill for our a/c that has to be mailed. I still keep stamps for cards and letters.

After having my water bill stolen out of the drop box and my credit card number stolen from that, I pay almost everything online.

No more lost mail, stolen mail, slow mail, etc. It's so convenient to pay online, and when I'm going out of town I set up everything so I don't have to worry about it when I'm gone. I don't like automatic withdrawals, in case the account is low on funds the day they want to take the money out, so I prefer to set up payments myself.

I still buy stamps because I do alot of trading and rebates, but I buy them at the grocery store because my credit card gives me 3% back on grocery store purchases. I'm saving money buy not buying stamps to mail bills, plus I write less checks so that's cheaper too. The peace of mind is the clincher.

I have been paying all my bills online through my bank for years and I LOVE IT! I not only save $ on stamps, but also buying checks. I haven't had to buy a book of checks in years because I only use them for odd things (babysitter, PTA dues, charity, etc).

I forgot to say that I pay through my bank, rather than give the utility my credit card number and have them charge it. I know that the Amex & Discover push that, but I had an issue years ago with a cell phone carrier who had an employee react my account that had been cancelled for 1 year. The employee changed the billing address from IL to CA (even though I had a "password" on the account). The employee charged hundreds of dollars to my Visa. The cell phone carrier collections office kept calling me even though I had reported it as fraud. Every time they called me I was on the phone for 30-45 min while they tried to get someone in their fraud department to verify what I was saying. The only reason I finally got it resolved was because I had a friend that worked for that company. Never again. If I pay through my bank and their is fraud, then I know it is from them.

Our electric and water companies use an online check service that charges a $3.50 fee for each transaction, so I don't pay them online. I usually mail them - I'd rather buy a 42-cent stamp than pay an extra fee for the privilege of paying my bill. The water company's office is right across the street from my church, so sometimes I just drop a check in their box on Sunday. The electric company has a bill pay station in the Piggly Wiggly half a block from my house, so sometimes I drop a check there.
I pay my cable, car insurance, credit card, and student loans online.

We pay all of our bills online. Wachovia offers points for every dollar of every bill you pay using their online service. (If you have a check card or credit card, they will give you points for those purchases as well and they are all lumped into one account.)

We redeem our points every 6 months or so. We use points to buy our CostCo membership each year and, depending on what's coming up, to buy gift cards to places we shop or as gifts. Right before our daughter was born, we got a few to Papa John's since they deliver

The website is www.WachoviaPossibilities.com and you can sign up if you have any Wachovia account. Oh, and it's free!
