We get ours free from the bank we use now. Before, I always ordered them from Image checks. We usually got a BOGO deal. Now I rarely use checks so it isn't as big of a deal.

I think I used Checks Unlimited last time I ordered them. Like swishina I haven't bought checks in about 5 years. These days I only write out maybe 5 or 6 a year.

We always got them from our bank - now I have to check if they were free or not.

I don't order tons, but when I do there is usually free shipping deals, BOGO on a box of checks, etc. through checks unlimited or other places online. I'm particular and only like the carbon copy side tear checks, and I get sucked into the huge variety of backgrounds vs what the bank offers. So I pay haha

Upon using that first box of checks up do you continue to order your checks through your bank or do you take advantage of the many advertised specials that are offered in almost every magazine, coupon flyers, newspapers?
I have also never heard of being required to purchase checks from the bank, I open checking accounts and just receive the 4 or 5 they give you, and then I'm on my own.

I have just been comparison shopping for checks myself. I am still using the original bank ones from when we moved here in 2006. I thought I might need to order them this year, but I think I can hold off until next year. Back in the days before debit cards and online banking, I used to order the ones on recycled paper supporting World Wildlife Federation.
