For cooler months of the year do you change your curtains in your home or do you keep up the same ones year around?

Same ones year round. The insulated curtains also block the sun.

We don't have many curtains in our house, but the ones we have are up year round.

I only change them when I'm sick of looking at the same ones. So far I've only changed the kitchen curtains this year.

We have mini-blinds - the cats like to sit in the windows and curtains get full of cat hair, and are a PITA to clean. Mini-blinds are much easier to depiliate.
We have a dark sheet over the bedroom window to keep the sun out when Himself wants to sleep in, but that's it. When it gets full of cat hair, it gets taken outside and sheken off,run through the washer, and goes back up.
