We are one of those where in our area, it's not worth it. We'd rather have a Sams Membership. We didn't renew of costco one, because the hours were weird, they didn't open until noon, then closed at 6, not practical for us. Also, they didn't have much food stuff we could use. It was all higher end things that cost a lot to buy, and we could do better at Kroger. It was great when we first joined, but now ours has concentrated on large ticket items, isntead of the veryday things we need and want.

If you like 'natural' food products, Costco is great. I can't have soy, and they have a lot of foods without preservatives or fillers, like pizza, chicken nuggets, raviolis, etc. And I have no problem feeding these foods to my kids because they don't have junk in them.

absolutely - and we don't even have kids. They are now going to start accepting food stamps as well - FYI.

Just now I was booking a rental car. I was checking rates based on my entertainment book coupons. Then I went to Costco.com and clicked their car rental program. I got the same car - Impala - for $50 less than the cheapest comparison I did against 4 other vendors. That right there covered the membership for the year.
