Who is in charge of taking care of the household finances?

Do you do them? or does DH do them? or do you do them together?

We each have the responsibility for specific bills - he pays the mortgage and phones, I pay the utilities and car insurance.
We both buy groceries.

Just me. We'd be beyond broke if I let him do it. He didn't like the way I was doing it so he took over and we almost lost the house! SO I'm back to doing it myself.....

I am the one that takes care of all of that for us as well. DH is self-employed, so has to handle everything as far as bills, budgeting, finding work, etc, etc, for the business, so doesn't want the stress of handling the bills at home as well. I am fine with it and rather manage it anyways.

Dh handles actually paying most of the monthly bills - but I'm aware of what is going on, how much the bills are etc

DH is in charge of making the money and paying the bills. I'm in charge of spending the money!

Honestly, I am sick of it & ready to hand over the reigns but if I do that we will for sure be on the streets sooner than later.

I do. When we moved in together I was already managing my household finances and looking after my younger brother. DH was happy to give me that responsiblity - but wants to know at least monthly what has happend and where are we financially.
