have you checked to see if your eligible for an upgrade?

My phone is 5-6 yrs old. The SIM card went bad this weekend. We took it to our local store and they gave us free replacement SIM cards. They also told me I could upgrade my phone for a small upgrade fee. The fee to upgrade my phone was $18 and the phone was free.

Worth checking your plan if you have a older phone!

We are allowed to upgrade our phone every 18 months (it just renews our 2 year contract). Usually i find a phone that is Free after rebates and then it is just the $18 activation fee and sometimes they waive that. I am happy with the phone I currently have so I won't upgrade for awhile.

I just went thru this, my phone was from 2005 and I am eligible for a new one every 2 years. I just never got around to changing it up, until the phone would not hold a charge any longer. I had $100 credit and was able to get a new phone at no cost when I renewed my plan. This phone is so much nicer and I am realizing how old and out-of-date looking my old phone was (actually it would make a good doorstop it was so big and heavy!!).

I update my phone every 2 years. I go through Sprint, and I always get the free phone. This past year they had NOTHING in store that I liked, then I went online to Sprint.com and found MANY phones that were free for me. I got exactly what I wanted for free, as long as I got the 2 year contract renewed.

What is a SIM card? Is that exclusive to only a certain provider (Alltel, sprint, etc)?
Just curious because i only have a tracfone.

I believe its like your 'memory card' for your phone. Thats how it keeps all your phone #s and address book.

I don't think we had to renew but I'm not positive. We went online for the free phone, too.
