Default who is in charge of taking out the trash?

I just wondered since it seems week after week I'm the one taking out the trash. so who in your house takes out the trash?

If Dh is home...he does it. He's great with all the recycling, he gets all that cardboard broken down and compact etc If Dh is not home, the kids put it out for me and bring up the empty bins at the end of the day.

Our changes, it's on the chore chart. If we didn't have it on the chore chart it would never get taken out, (except by me) even if it were overflowing. I don't think DH has ever taken it out without being asked.

My kids switch off weeks. One week it is my son the next my daughter. If my husband is home he will normally take it out for them.

Ditto. If it needs to be done it needs to be done. I've never seen it as a big deal or something that needed delegating.

One of the benefits of marrying when you have both been single for a long time - you're both used to just doing what needs to be done instead of expecting someone else to do it.

I'm here most of the day. So, I usually take it outside.

dh takes it to the dump every other week.
