I dont wrap any gifts at all, I cant stand to see all the wrapping paper go in the trash LOL. If I get gift bags, I reuse them. I also use brown paper bags to wrap things up too.
If it is for extended family they have to go out right after Thanksgiving so I would wrap about a week before. I wrap the gifts for home while watching the news at night starting about 2 weeks before Christmas. This year there is little to wrap.
To keep track of things I keep a running list of what I purchase/make and for each person/family group.
I like wrapping and normally volunteer to wrap for Charity/Fund Raising organizations.
I wrap them almost as I get them... All will be done by the 1st sometimes the 2nd week in Dec. I like to have it all done and out of the way. I wrap them all and put them either in one or 2 really BIG plastic store bags. (thoose are also used to carry gifts to in laws house.) or I will put them in a box in a closet where dd won't see any of them.
Wrapping is the very last thing I do. I like to see eveyone's gifts in front of me, unwrapped so I can be sure that everyone gets the same amount of gifts, etc. Sometimes, if I've inadvertently bought more for one child than another I'll pull something aside for another occassion (like a bday).
Plus I often forget what I buy until I see it!
When I wrap them over a month in advance, I have to put post-its on them reminding me what's inside!
I have a Christmas note book just for this reason.
I have whom we are buying for their limit. Then what I bought for them listed and how much I spent. I try to pay for it all cash that I have budgeted for.
I have always have done Christmas this way beacuse this is how my mother did it to keep the total straight for all 4 of her kids and I started to help her when I was young (too young) since I had 2 older sisters.
The night before. It never fails I always wait until the last minute to wrap. I need to get it done earlier. I only have about six things in the closet right now but I should wrap them that way when I pick up the other stuff I wont be so overwhelmed.
