Since its almost that time of the year for a new calendar, what do you do?

For my planner I bought pre-dated 2009 ones, which I plan to switch over the dates myself. They we're half price, I just cant pay the price for them when they arnt on sale. The year before, instead of paying 25$ for just the calendar, I bought another planner and took the papers out of that for 13$!

  • I use the calendar on my Microsoft Outlook. It's free! Plus, it syncs with my phone so I always have it with me.
  • There are also calendars at the Dollar Spot at Target right now.
  • Cute calendars at Barnes and Noble usually hit 75% off at the end of January if you can wait that long.

The best inexpensive day planner I have found is the small school assignment books. I keep one at my office. Each day has lines for assignments, which are nice for writing-in appointments and to-do's. I use another one at home for menus, shopping lists, etc. The ones I am using now go from Sept. '09 - Dec. '10.

If you keep a wall calendar, they make one-year dry erase ones that are reusable - you have to fill in the dates, but you'll never have to buy another wall calendar.

Dollar Tree has them for $1. I am buying each of my kids one for Christmas. Cheap present and we love calendars here. Also we buy them after Christmas when they are cheaper.

Stores like Fleet Farm or Menards have them for free. Usually one comes from the school at the beginning of the school year that covers from August to June. In the past I've gotten one from Kraft Food & Family. We also get calendars from places like the Alzheimer Assoc or Disabled Veteran's foundations at the nursing home I work at for each of the resident's rooms. Once they have been distributed, the nursing staff can take the rest. There are usually enough left over that I can get about 3. I rarely ever buy hanging calendars. If I get one for my purse or bookbag, I get it from Dollar Tree or Walgreens.

I get the assignment books out of the school supply section. They are date from August to August which suits me better anyway. I always need a refreher with the kids schedule and dh's schedule at that time of year after the craziness of summer. For the hoUSE I always use the freebies available around town, banks, local businesses or charities send them to us. For my meal plan I print out a new calendar each month after I type my meal plan out.
