My favorite Ben Moore sage-ish green is Aganthus Green, though it is as close to a cool green as you would want to get (I have it in my living room). I'll walk uptown today and check out the swatches for more green suggestions, but if you are thinking you have too much green you're probably right.

So... you feel like you're drowning in green...Maybe a nice light neutral. I love, love, love Manchester Tan by Ben Moore for a nice, neutral beige without looking brown, gray, tan, pink, or boring. I have it with Linen White trim in my Dining room and I like it so much because it is a disappearing color.

hooray for painting the paneling!

I did a little more color swatch browsing, and another nice Benjamin Moore green is "pine forest" which by name sounds dark but is a really pleasing lighter shade.

what does your family do in the basement? entertain? kids play area? hang out and watch tv? if you could split the room, what would use the multiple rooms for? do you need to put anything in the basement? an office? need extra storage? want to use that bar (i think that's what it is in picture behind the couch)? have access to any other furniture that you could put down there?

How about a light taupe with golden undertones or a really light grey in the same tones as the fireplace? You could do a really light charcoal color (it would look great with the green carpet). I would stay with a color that is light because you don't have much natural light and in the same family as the colors in your fireplace since it is the focus in the room. You can do an accent color on your TV wall (even just a few shades darker than the rest of the room).
