One thing that I've done is use an over-the-door shoe holder, you know, the ones with the little pouches, that hangs on the inside of my pantry door. I put items that are normally in boxes that take up a lot of space, like cereal bars, granola bars, bags of popcorn, spice packets, etc. I got one for about 4.99 that has clear pouches, so that helps to see what's in them! HTH

hey ladies. My pantry is USUALLY organized and very accessable however we have had our babysitters here for two days a week and young girls that don't appreciate order can be a stumbler to someone organized! lol They try but it's now a jumbled mess temperarily.

I used to frequent the donut shop a bit and kept seeing pudding/icing buckets for sale. I bought a couple of them and now store my bulk rice and red beans in our pantry. The nice thing is that rice and beans can store indefinitely and are great to have in the pantry for times when the stores are low on good like storms/panics etc. They are opaque so I can see how full the contents are.

I try and arange my pantry by canned goods on the top shelves, and work down like vegetables, soups, and work down to dry goods like mixes and then extra supplies, like peanut butter, jelly, syrup etc. If we are out of something we know to look on the bottom shelves.

I would post a pic but my cabinets look ghastly! I have them primed and am in the process of painting them! lol

My pantry has a day of it's own (well shared with the fridge) to be cleaned and reorganized every week. I have all the cans and bottles on the bottom shelf, labels facing out, all a like things together. The next shelf up is all boxes shortest to tallest, like items together, labels facing out. The top shelf is canisters for sugar and flour and stuff as well as bagged food like chips. My spices go in the cabinet above and to the left of my stove. The packs of like chili, taco, and other mixes are in a clean baby wipes container (no lid or lable left on it) in alphabetical order, like items together. I too have to have things as uniformed as I can. I don't know if it's my OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) popping out, or if it's being a military spouse.... maybe both.:D

I have pretty good counter space but no pantry - only a lower corner cabinet with 2 shelves - I keep baby items like formula, rice cereal and jar foods on the top shelf. On the lower shelf 1/2 stand alone items like soup, canned pastas, canned beans and veggies - the other 1/2 components like broth, cornstach, vinegar - you get the idea - all items are either in cans, containers or ziplocs to decrease bugs and increase shelf life. All flour/sugar/cornmeal etc. is kept in containers on the counter - all boxed and bagged opened items like chips, cookies, crackers, rice etc are kept on the bottom shelf of the frige. In the freezer much like the cabinet stand alones like TV dinners top shelf components like chicken bottom shelf. Such limited space actually keeps me from overbuying too much and makes me plan well. - P.S. when baby is bigger and eating table food the cabinet will go back to stand alone top- component bottom!
