I was buying some gallons of bottled water and saw that they now have expiration dates?? Every store I have been in has water that "expires" within a few weeks. I feel like surely it would be safe to drink expired water... don't you think?

I finally found some unexpired at Dollar General. It's good until Feb 2007 and was only 65 cents a gallon.

Just what I need- to worry about water expiration dates...

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. I would not keep it until next season if you don't use it, but I would keep it all this season if I didn't need it and then use it at the end of the season. JMO

Thanks, Claire. That's what I was thinking. Lord, I hope I don't need to use it anyway!

Could you imagine not only the expense of getting water every time we were threatened, but the hassle? I would have spent about half my summer in line at Walmart last summer getting bottled water!!

Actually it's the seal on the water that expires. The date on there is how long they guarentee the seal to be good. If the gluey stuff on the seal gets too old it can leak & the water can get stagnant. Dh's friend works for Pepsi, & he told me that. He has to pick up any water that is out of date now, & take it back to the warehouse; just like with the soda.
