I did this last night with a tube of Country Bunny Body Butter that I use for DD after her bath. Theere's enough in there for at least two more baths!

My grandmother does this, but I didn't think it was worth it. I always blamed it on her being born during the Depression era. But now I'll try it, thanks.

I have been doing this for a long time, especially with the hand lotions. I cut the bottom off, probably in the middle of the tube, then put it back on, it fits perfectly and the stuff inside doesn't go dry.

Anything they did in the depression era, is a good tip! They really knew how to use the last of everything!

I read this tip last year and do it on anything I can. I use binder clips to keep the toothpaste or lotion from drying out while I use the very last drop. I figure it's my money until I spend it. I'd rather spend it on something fun like vacation than on toothpaste. Pennies make dollars!

The same tip can be used for laundry soap and fabric softener. My friends father owns a laundromat, and they offer a drop off service there too , where they do people's laundry for a fee (per lb). They take "empty" containers that people have put in the trash and cut the top's off (not easy) but there is soap left in them, combine soap into one container, and save $$ that way.

I don't bother with that because I make my own....but its good for those who buy laundry soap.

Great idea!

How do you make your own laundry soap? I'd love to save on that!
