I use it in my dishwasher instead of Jet Dry. It works great and keeps the inside of my dishwasher clean, too. Just fill it up to the line. Sometimes I get a little vinegar smell as the dishes are cleaning, but no one else notices it. And there is no smell of vinegar on the clean dishes.

Thanks for the info and thanks to Periwinkle for starting this thread! I've needed jet dry for a long time but couldn't reason with the price of it! They don't even give you good coupons for it. It's always like $1 on 2! I don't want to spend the money on 1, let alone 2 just to use the coupon!

I bought some tea tree oil for our cloth diapers, and it can be hard to find in the pharmacy section. Just look specifically for fungal remedies (like for athlete's foot)...the one I bought at walmart was in a small brown glass bottle.

I did use Mrs. Meyers products to clean but read that ingrediants aren't required to be listed. It made me wonder what "natural" really meant when it came to cleaning. Since then I have changed over to baking soda, borax, and vinegar. Don't do it to save money but for health and environment reasons.

Another vinegar tip that is very popular on this board is to use it in place of Fabric Softener. I've done this in the past, and my clothes do not smell like vinegar. I just happen to get a great deal on 2 bottles of fabric softener, and I love the smell. LOL So I've been using that instead.

I use it all the time in my laundry! My husband has the grossest smelling clothes after he mowes the lawn and I always wash his clothes with Tide and a couple of glugs of vinegar and they smell great when they are done! i also use them with my towels. About every 3 towel washes I'll use regular fabric softener and the other times I use vinegar.

We have to clean with vinegar out of necessity. We cannot have any harsh smells in our home because of Tommys trach. (Including cooking oders, smoke, vacuuming, dust, etc) I use it in the laundry all the time.

I use vinegar in place of Jet Dry for my dishwasher; when the utensils look cloudy, it's time to add more.
I also use vinegar as a fabric softener; our clothes smell fresher.

I use vinegar alot too! I do equal parts water and vinegar in a bottle. I add an essential oil for a citris smell or I do tea tree for disinfectant sometimes. It makes the stainless steel sink shine and my fixtures shine.
I also use it in laundry. I learned it when researching how to wash cloth diapers. I use about 1/2 a cup of baking soda on the laundry and then put the vinegar in a downy ball (filled to the line), and then toss it in. I haven't ever noticed a vinegar smell on the clothes.
I use it when I mop floors too. The spots on the floor just wipe right off! I do a bucket of hot water and about 1/2 cup of vinegar. I can smell it when cleaning, but once it's dry, the smell goes away!
You know how the crockpot gets caked on food? I just fill it with hot water and dump a little vinegar in it. I let that sit for a few hours or overnight, and then, it cleans very easily. Pretty much just wipes off. I also do this with my rice pot since the rice tries to stick at the bottom.
It's a great way to clean!
