Thank you! I love spending time in there. That picture was actually taken recently by a local newspaper photographer. The Historic Preservation Society called and asked to feature our home in the paper, so they sent a photographer and a journalist to our home. It made the top of the front page of the Sunday paper (which is the highest circulation). We have been on cloud 9 about it!!

We have a living room, no family room. The living room is small and shaped like a narrow rectangle so nothing fits in it without cutting the room off at one end. So we've arranged the furniture is such a way that it kind of opens it up. I have no pictures of it - I really dislike this house.

It sounds like that would be hard to arrange. Don't you wonder what was going through some architect's mind when they designed things, sometimes?

Ugh, yes! Right when you walk in the door there's the kitchen. Right there. Smack in the middle of what could have been an open floor plan *sigh*

You just wonder if the builders/designers ever thought about what it would be like to live in some of the houses they create.

We have the livingroom, which is attached to the dining room and kitchen, its all open, then we have the family room, which is our living room/comp room/playroom for our son, then we have 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms and a jacuzzi and backyard and front yard, with a drive way that fits 3 cars, space to fit a boat, Harley davidson and the camper.

Now we share this house with my in-laws, so its enough room for 5 people and two dogs.

The family room is also a play room, we have a pool table in here as well, plus the computer, stereo 2 couches, tv, ps2 and collectibles, plus all our son's toys.
This is where we all "play" LOL!!!!!!!! Its decorated in blue demin, it has blue demin couches and stuff like that.

The living room is all in dark wook and burgundy and green colors, the walls are a very light tanned color.

your living room is beautiful! Ours is a mix of modern and antiques! We have antique furniture but modern tv and bookshelves. Antique dresser holding movies etc. but a treadle sewing machine as an in table and antique chair. I just love antiques sprinkled throughout our house. If I get the chance I will post a pic later on.

Your fireplace is gorgeous! The one thing I truly miss from our old house!!!! Cozy fire, book or sewing and a cup of tea. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh how wonderful!

We have a informal living room that has a TV, fireplace, bookcases and big comfy couches. We mostly hang out here. It is painted a khacki color with hardwood floors. The kids play here although there is a small toy room located off this room where toys are stored. We also have what I call a game room in our basement. It is DH's room although the kids ask to go downstairs to play. The walls are painted a light yellow to brighten up the basement and the floor is tiled. We have a large screen tv, stereo, pool table , bar, air hockey table and fooze ball table. Since it is DH's room he picked the decore and he chose Boston Red Sox theme complete with a mural of the Green Monster.

We have antiques scattered throughout, too! I feel the same way about them. THey add such character, and most of mine are family pieces.

We have a fireplace in our family room, too, and we love them. As a matter of fact, we heat most of our house with the fire places and save on our gas bill. There is nothing more relaxing than the crackling of the fire while I read, do crossword puzzles, or play with the kids. I'm so glad we have them!!!
