We have a membership and really only buy a couple of items there and it is still worth it. Mostly it is the digital film developing that we use. It is $.13/print 2 day service or $.17/print in an hour. This is by far the best deal, even better than online. Also, I can't remember the numbers but someone here probably does...things aren't marked clearanced but if it ends in a certain number (maybe .88) it has been discounted.

We have a membership to Cosco and we usually go about once every 2 months or so (unless we need something important before) We buy my mil's Prilosec, DS's Claritin Syrup, Cosco brand of free and clear laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, cereal, pnut butter, meats, environmentally friendly light bulbs, soda and garbage bags. We only use the cosco brand....so much cheaper and just as good..when dd was a baby we used their diapers, wipes and when she finished breast feeding (stopped on her own at 10.5 mths and promptly got her first tooth immediately after!!) we bought their brand of formula. I have noticed they are getting more and more organic items too....also if you like to eat nuts the prices are sooooo much better on bulk nuts then in the grocery stores!!

I Shop Sams Club weekly if not more. I do daycare in my house and with as much milk as I go thru - I'm always running to Sams for more milk. At last check, it was about 50 cents a gallon cheaper and I go thru about 4 gallons a week. Also can't beat their discount on Gas - much cheaper than any of place around. But I only buy what i'll use - It's so easy to pick up a large quantity of something only to have it spoil before it goes bad -

We have a membership to Sam's Club, but I haven't been there since May. They just opened a Costco, which is slightly closer to us, but I know nothing about how comparable they are to Sam's Club.

At Sam's, I buy Jif peanut butter, Smucker's grape jelly, bottled water, snacks (especially for packed lunches), some office supplies; and some educational software and/or workbooks.
