Do you shop at sam's club? If so do you feel you come out really good there instead of just another grocery store? I just got a membership and was thinking am I gonna save alot if I go there for all my groceries? Things are so high these days. And the kids get bigger and hungrier! I'd love any opinions or tips you might have. As always I thankyou!

Yes, I shop there, but not for everything. Sam's is 1/2 hour from me, but we go about once a month. We definitely save, since we drink cases of fruit 2oh, and it is much cheaper than other places. There are certain things we always buy there, like dishwasher soap, paper plates, spaghetti, macaroni, fuit snacks, salsa.

I shop there for snacks, bottled water, tea bags, laundry detergent, dish detergent, paper plates and meats, sometimes toliet paper if its not on sale anywhere else. They also have adorable clothes for my little ones.

My membership pays for itself in two shopping trips.

Here are 2 links to similar discussions on Sams Club. I go to both Sams and Costco.
I think that Sams has good prices on milk, eggs, go gurt, corn dogs I also think that the cereal is a good deal if you want 2 big bags usually of the same cereal. IMO things like peanut butter and salad dsg and oils are good deals if you use those kinds of items. I am not really good at price comparing- though I do to the few items that we tend to run thru fast and I believe that these big stores are worth it. I also know that some items can be more and using coupons in the market would be a better deal. So if you have some idea of wha tyou pay for things you will do alright.
Good luck and report back on your thoughts once you go there a few times

Aldi's or BJ's/Sam's Club?

We go to both Sam's Club and BJ's. We save big with BJ's especially because they also accept coupons. From BJ's we get formula, diapers, wipes, baby food, bread, cleaning products, etc. From Sam's we get our meats and fruits and vegies & milk. They also have great birthday cakes!

We get diapers, wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, fruit snacks, oatmeal, pancake mix, big things of crackers, cheese and some other things at Sam's. I've checked the per oz or piece price on things and I can't get a better deal at the grocery store for any of these.

Once you get the hang of which items it makes sense for you to buy in bulk, I think you will find yourself saving time and $. Everyone will have a different list of what they go through in their family. Also, the weeks I go to Sams, I try to not have to do any other grocery shopping, because I know I will drop a big chunk of cash at Sams buying so much of each item. Also if you wear contacts, they are way cheaper there.

Our Sams is 45 minutes away, but when we are over that way we buy all of our paper products and laundry supplies. Also, if you host meals often, their food service section (warmers, serving trays, etc) is great. School/office supplies like pens and pencils, and even scrapbooking supplies like shape-cutting scissors are priced well too.

Sam's definitely has saved us a ton on dog food and diapers in particular, and several other staples. However, you really need to know your prices! I really do much better at Ultra grocery store for cereal, yogurt, cheese, etc. I load up on their sales and am able to use coupons, too. Buying a lot of premade meals will never save you money...the freshest and closest you can get to homemade is the cheapest way to go! So watch out for the delicious and tempting snacks, premade breakfast items, and warm and serves. EAT BEFORE YOU GO SHOPPING! (Oh, leave the kids at home if they're old enough to ask for things or set firm limits before you go!)
