My boys whole room is a giant mural. It became a distraction/obsession for me when my mom was sick. It has a green rug, I continued green half way up the walls for the grass and landscape, then did the rest of way up (including ceiling) with sky blue and made clouds and glow in the dark stars. I made a huge tree in the corner and fastened a silk ficus tree to it to make it 3-D. I painted their dressers to blend in w/ the scenary. I have one dresser that separates my boys beds, ones side has bunnies smelling sun flowers, the other a swan swimming in a pond. The pictures come even with the boys pillows so they can see them before they go to sleep.

My 8 yr old DS room has always been primary colors. We started out with teddy bears as the theme but changed at about 3 or 4 to sports. He of course isn't really into sports but I've spent the last 5 years finding sports related decorating stuff on clearance so he has them - bulletin board, shelves, wall stickers, etc. Everything, including bedding, was purchased on clearance and it looks great!

Several years ago he wanted to paint his room orange. I refused but we picked out a very bright orangish yellow. I was very proud of the paint job I had done - the next day he said he wanted it red. I was crushed. Told him the next time his room got painted, he would be old enough to do it by himself. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera or I'd take pics.

Sounds so cute. I'd love to see it too.

My oldest son (Shawn) loves animals and we rent our home so we have animal posters everywhere and his bedspread goes with it. My other two sons share a room and I just hung up a Pooh poster, a Sesame Street poster, and a Cars poster. I call it "preschool eclectic" lol

I painted the boys room a dark baby blue color and then spent 3 days stenciling dinosaurs on the wall. The boys love it and it turned out really nice. I have 3 pictures on the walls...one is a dinosaur puzzle that I had to special order (ARGH!) to even find and the others are a pic of each of the boys that I took, had printed on fabric and framed. They look neat, but don't really match the whole dino decor thing.

At the new house, Rugby is getting a space room, complete with rocket ship on the wall, I have a solar system to hang, the walls are 2 different shades of blue and the other colors will be bright orange and bright green with metallic accents. I'm looking forward to working on it! Riley's room at the new house is going to be in a fishing theme. The top half of the room a khaki color and the bottom a muddy green with a chair rail seperating them, then bamboo fishing poles for curtain rods and fishing net for curtains. DH and the boys are gonna make fishing lures to hang in the net and we've got some stringers that they are gonna hang wooden fish from and I'll probably get a boat paddle to hang in there, too. Still not sure if the baby is gonna share with Riley or be on his own yet....
