We noticed that all wetness in our basement is under where there are windows, but there is not wetness running down the wall. So we figure that the rain is leaking in around the windows and running down the middle of the block wall and leaking out bottom of the wall. So we are getting caulk to seal around the windows and then buying the metal window wells and the window well covers. Dh is worried because it is going to cost about $100 for all the materials. I keep telling him that if that is all it takes we have gotten off easy!!! How many people can fix basement water problems for $100 bucks!! Heck around here, right now, there aren't too many people who don't have at least a couple of inches of water in their basement!!!

I hate to say this but my parents had the same problem for YEARS did the window things and all and it all came down to the builder didn't seal the wall all the way up on the out side so my parents had to dig 4 ft down all around the house to put a sealer on and then after they did that there was no more water problems EVER.
