I am researching to see which do save some money on Cable (internet/TV), DSL-Verizon(internet/telephone) or Satellite (DirectV). As of right now, I don't have cable since last July and notice Cox Cable rate of internet/TV seem increase little bit which would come approx $90 a month. I need some feedbacks/advices I could use to help me decide and discuss more with my husband. I really miss internet/cable at home for 2 months now. Any feedbacks/advices would be much appreciate.

I am interested in what people say, too. My dh wants HD stations. Right now we have Cox for our cable and internet and pay $95 a month with limited HD channels. So, he is looking into exactly what you are looking into as well.

I just want fewer bills (and lower bills, of course)!

When I switched to Dish/DSL I was able to bundle my package that also included land line phone. The Dish package was cheaper than our Cox cable and we got more with it.

As for adding HD thats another ball game! Personaly I could care less about it. I know someday when we get a new tv (hoping not anytime soon) then it will become an issue between dh and I

It has to be a guy thing. I don't care either, but he is such an audio/visual phile that he drives me crazy! If I am watching TV in our bedroom (the only HD tv we have currently) and it is on NBC and it is REGULAR, you would think I had committed murder. He HAS to switch it over for me - like I care!!!

I don't want to see every zit and wrinkle on Matt Lauer's face, to be completely truthful!

But, back to this post, the HD portion is separate?

On dish it is seperate, and according to listening to my dh and brother talk in order to get true HD you have to purchase a seperate cable thats runs around $100.00. What is it with men

We have internet, hd dish and phone service with Qwest. It is kind of spendy though. We pay about $150 for everything, though dh's company re-imburses us for the internet portion. I personally could care less about the HD portion, but yes, it is a man thing!!! The customer service is excellent, too!!

We used to have all this through Medicom (except the HD) and we paid less. But after we moved we kept having problems with our phone and internet and their customer service was horrible. You would have to be on hold for at least a half an hour every time you called before you even got to talk to someone (and Medicom is located right in my town!) They never could get the service right either. We decided it was worth paying a bit more for the service we get now!

We just bundled everything through Time Warner. We have high speed internet, Digital phone with unlimited long distance (which I have yet to notice a difference with the digital, but oh well), and Digital cable with HD. (Like everyone else seems to feel, b/c the hubby thinks it is so much better) And we only pay $120/ month for all of those including tax. It saved us like $20 to bundle everything.

We also switched to Dish when it turned out to be cheaper than Cable...DH also hated all that bundling with phone service, internet etc

We don't have a HD TV but my MIL has HD TV's and the HD service for each of them, although it's not any more expensive than a reg cable box, at least thru the company she deals with. To tell you the truth, Dh and I can't tell the difference! LOL! People that love it and have it claim it's fabulous. We just don't care that much about TV.
