While in Savannah, I came across this fabulous doorway:

Now while this is too elaborate for most of us, there are wonderful ideas here. Note the balance and interesting shape of the topiaries to frame the door. The liberal use of moldings and corbels create a visual richness. The flag adds a splash of accent color.

The beautifully shaped door and glass serve as the focal point of this grand home, inviting you to enter. Choosing one or two of these elements can add elegance and style to your own entryway.

I'd love to know what you think.

To Delightful Decorating,

- Melisa

I don't know why, but it reminds me of an entrance I saw on Designing Women years ago. Wonder if they used that home for an episode.

I absolutely love it!!! I especiallylike the topiaries. I would love to have them at my entryway, especially at Christmas with lights on them. I think topiaries make things look so elegant. I love the arches also. I like things to be symmetrical!! My home now is NOT that way. I have so many projects that have been waiting on me for years now. It seems overwhelming to even think about it.:D But I do love that look!!!
