I have been rack drying my clothing for the last 6 months and I feel like that has made a noticeable difference in our electric bill. It's not huge, but 10 bucks here or there is nice. I just throw them in to fluff for 10 mins instead of taking an hour or more to get it all dry in the dryer.
In fact I have dried a few loads this last week to be ready for a trip this Sunday and have felt so guilty about it.

I line dry all of my clothing except the underwearand other unmentionables ;0). I don't like the crunchy feeling of line drying, but its cheaper on electricity and the dryer doesn't heat up my house anymore.

We use racks, and I've never really noticed a stiff or crunchy feel once clothes are taken off and either hung up or tossed to be hung up. That seems to fade after a bit. I LOVE the stiffness of the towels though, it's like a nice exfoliation after a hot shower, and seems to be far more absorbat than towels that have been used a few times. The best part of it all, other than saving money, is the clothes seems to last longer. I don't air dry in the winter months though, for some reason hey don't seem to dry well outside. Lucky for us winter isn't a long season here.

I don't dry outside because things would either blow away here or just get dirty from all the dust flying around.
So I just have two racks that I take out and rotate clothes on. Then just put in the dryer for 10 mins on the fluff cycle to get that stiff feeling out. Some things I don't mind, others I like softer.
But it works well. I have not done it full time during the winter yet, but I can see already if we don't get sun in the house it's a much slower process.

We have a huge basement where our laundry area is and we hung a clothes line down there. I dry everything in the dryer with 1/4 of a softener sheet for 10 minutes to kind of soften it and make it smell good. Then line dry the remainder of the time everything except jeans, underclothes, towels and bedding.

Weather permitting, the only things I don't line dry are socks, towels, and jeans.

We line dry all our clothes. The only time I will use the tumble dryier if it has been raining for almost a week and we need clothes.

I normally wash all our clothes on a friday night and then hang them up on Saturday Morning. The bedding and toweling gets washed on Saturday night to be hung up on Sunday Morning. At the moment its so hot that wet washing can be taken down in less than half an hour. When we do take down the washing we fold it straight away, that way when we get in the house we sort it out into the correct peoples piles and it get put in their rooms.

I dry about half of my laundry either in the house or on the line (depending on weather) - mostly hanging in the house though lately. The other half I do in the dryer. For me it is an issue of time, too. I can get more into the washer if I don't have to keep waiting for the clothes in the dryer to finish up.
