My DH suggested I treat myself to a Phone/Palm PDA combo for my B-day. I'm starting to wonder how I lived without it. I'd love to hear some tips from anyone who uses a PDA to stay organized.

Yes, I love mine. Mine is also my GPS unit. I love having my calendar on me so when I'm at the dentist office or something, and I want to make my next appt, I can look on my calendar. I also keep all my addresses/phone numbers in it, so looking people up is a breeze and then if I need to find their house, I can use my GPS to get there. LOL!

I keep things in it, like a list of all the birthdays in my family/friend circle that I buy cards for...so when I'm somewhere and I'm thinking of who I need a card for, I have my list right there.

I use it every day, I too would be lost without it.

I would be lost without my PDA. It tells me where to be & when too. It also tells me who I'm late getting a birthday card to! LOL It has really come in handy too, since the kids have started sports. I assign a color to each so I can see who needs to be where at a glance. I have the main house calendar color coded the same way. It helps a lot. I also set up directories in the address book by child so their friends/coaches go in there & can be found quickly too.

GPS wow...now that is organized. I'll have to put that on the next wish list. I was looking for directions online the other day and noticed that with software I could have downloaded them. GPS just takes it to a whole new level.

I also love the color coding idea. I immediately had to go and figure out how to do it.

This weekend I put a week's worth of menus on it as well as the matching grocery list. It was so easy I'll definitely be doing that again.

Thanks for the ideas.

I have a Palm, I will have to go look & see what the model is. I've had several Palms over the past 10 years, loved them all.

I have a Palm Treo phone. I love it. I only have to carry one thing with me and it has everything I need right there. The only problem I have is when I'm on the phone and need to jot something down...so I keep a pen and paper in the car with me for such occasions.

I have a Palm Treo 650 and I really like the palm format. We just bought the phone outright because we have a really good service plan. It was a big splurge. I didn't get the web access because I mainly wanted it for the planner functions and that's super expensive here. (The palm pilots without the phone have really come down in price) If you decide on a treo make sure to get a palm format not windows.

I actually figured out that I can be on the phone and check the calendar or jot a note without hanging up. It works really well with the speaker phone or headset jack but you can use do it without too. Just go to the calendar, memo or whatever program and when you're done click on the little green phone and it brings you right back. I actually read the user manual...DH teases me but hey I discovered useful info.
