We handwash our dishes and I got a really good deal on the new foaming dish soap, however, I was about to run out of dish soap and my DH went and bought a small bottle. I noticed several days later that he had used quite a lot of the new bottle already so I decided to add some to the now empty foaming bottle and add some water and shake. It works like a charm. A couple of squirts of foam compared to a couple of squirts of concentrate, you do the math!

Very true, whenever your about to throw out some sort of liquid solution just through in some water, shake, and good as new. I use this with my dish soap, liquid soap and shampoo.

I usually add water to dishsoap and hand soap whenever it gets 1/4-1/2 empty. It's easier for me to do it that way, rather than trying to physically use less, lol.

With the small bottles of handsoap for the bathroom, I keep one empty one on hand. When I buy a new one, I pour half into the empty bottle, add water to fill both up and shake well. DH is a little OCD when it comes to washing his hands, so he'll use like 3-4 squirts of soap each time. It makes it last twice as long as a full just-bought bottle.

I read somewhere about buying normal dish detergent and adding just a very small amount in with a good bit of water, shaking and using that in refill of the foaming concentrated soap (Dawn foaming, etc)

Good tip. I've thought about doing this, but I haven't done it yet.
