My favorite way to save money is to consciously try to live a little bit like my grandma did. She didn't have all the modern conveniences we do so she made do with what she had. She made food and gifts at home=$savings She used cloth diapers and hung clothes out on the line=$savings The kids played outside=no expensive toys. They didn't go on fancy vacations instead they spent time with family. I try really hard to live "old fashioned" except when it comes to safety and health. (although sometimes old ideas are better) I could go on and on about how to live like gramma!

Keep sharing all of your grandmothers ways. I often try to remember how my grandparents did it. They didn't talk much about how to save. But I remember all the gardening and days of canning and cooking. And lots of stews for dinner. They still are always taking in family to help them out and still canning and gardening and they are close to 80.
