Instead of buying colored noodles for my craft project. I let the kids make them out of any "old" noodles we have. This is a good way of using the expired noodles, or one that may have weevels in them. I put the noodles- example mac and cheese - in a baggy, then we add 3-4 tsp. of rubbing alchol and 8-10 drops of food coloring. You can adjust the food coloring to fit the actually color you want. (lighter or darker) Then we put them on a baking sheet covered with wax paper to dry. Allow about 30- 1 hour. This works with any noodles that you may have laying around and saves you from throwing them in the trash.
