As You May Know candles are My thing

I have three Burning right now - All fall scents.

Sometimes I get tired of candles - Maybe in the hot summer-
I also do things like simmer cinnamon/vanilla and Orangee peel

I make the homemade febreze too -

And I take fab softener sheets and Put em in trash cans , and On high shelves out of View.

I like the car freshiner Idea too!!

I have tried the yankee wall flowers and the darn thing Leaked all over my wall and Outlet - I didn't take it back since I got it with a Free coupon ....

But I won't Buy those again -
I have no problems with the febreze noticables-

If you have a bad odor in your home and no time to get rid of it before guests come over...some dry coffee in a small bowl will make a whole room smell fresh. We use it in rooms when we have a mouse die in the wall and the odor seems to go away faster.

This is a big one for me. I do NOT want my house to smell bad. I love it when someone comes over and says the house smells good. Very important to me. I am also big on candles and used to burn them every day, but trying to save money and cut it down to once or twice a week. But mostly I just keep the house clean. We leave no dirty dishes around, all trash cans get emptied daily, and clean everything. I also use baking soda on the carpets so that helps too.

Yes, the house does smell better when it is clean but for some reason in the fall I love the smell of apple cinnamon candles or pumpkin pie. I just love the fall scents. I made apple butter a couple of weeks ago and house smelled sooooo good.

I read about this here (I think) or maybe in one of my library books - I took baking soda (about 1/8 cup) and put it in dixie cups. I then put a couple drops of essential oils in there and mixed it up. I put those all around the house (medicine cabinets, high shelves). You know, places they wouldn't be noticed. It has been over 1 week and I still catch myself getting a scent when I enter the bathroom or basement.

I'll have to try the homemade febreze idea!

I like the smell of a clean house better than anything...but I'm not one for scented candles or any type of air freshener, they all smell gross/fake to me.

OH, I always get the wallflowers when they are on sale. They each last about a month and you get two in a package. They work really well and I like them much better than glade products.

I've been staying away from candles with a toddler. I don't want to forget to blow them out or have my little one pull one off of the table. Plus, my grandparents home burned down from leaving a lit candle burn when they left the house!

Another great idea is to put the car air fresheners inside the bag of your vacuum cleaner and then use it. It will last as long as your bag until it is full and will smell great every time you vacuum. Also, if you just sprinkle some small potpourri or cinnamon on the floor and then vacuum it up it works the same way. I use this lots for my cleaning service and my clients love it.

The homemade Febreeze works great too. I use that all the time.

Also, the twist up glad air fresheners are usually under $1 at Walmart and they work wonderful. I will buy tons of the fresh linen or Rainshower scents because they smell so nice and clean without being too perfumy.
