I will pick up candles any time i find them on sale and everyone gives me candles. I have three drawers just full of candles. I always have one going in almost all the rooms.

I love candles and incense - mostly spicy smells like patchouli or sandalwood, but I don't depend on them or any other scent product to keep my house smelling good. I just keep it clean - take out the trash, sweep and mop the floors, vacuum the rugs with baking soda, clean the litter box.
I use the incense and candles mainly for meditation and other daily religious rituals, then extinguish them.

you can make your own lavender sachets which smell really nice.

just put some lavender into some fabric squares and tie with a ribbon

you can google the instructions

i worked (catering) a party and the hosts made these and filled the room with them for decoration. the room smelled so good !!!

I recently discovered that if you put beverage warmer out then put a candle (the kind in a jar) on top of that, the candle will melt giving you great aroma! I discovered this by visiting Kirklands Home where they wanted to sell me a "candle warmer" (same as beverage warmer) for $9.99.

What's more, I leave my warmer on all day then turn it off at night. The lady at Kirklands said they do this as well and their candle has lasted a month with plenty of life left! It really made sense to me b/c the aroma comes from where the flame of the candle is (the melted part of the candle).

I immediately came home dug out my beverage warmers and put my small votive candles on them. When the votive candles are gone, I will move on to a larger candle. For now though, the votives are doing a pretty good job at giving me great scents in my entire home. I have one in my kitchen, one in my living room and one in the bathroom. Hope this helps someone!!!

Wickless candles that last a lot longer than regular candles. Are much less expensive! And are safe for children, elderly, pets, dorms,etc... Also people with allergies and other respitory problems that can't use candles, love and can use Scentsy.

I like to burn candels. I buy them at Goodwill. Most of them I get for $1.00 and they are all name brand like Yankee and Pier One. It is amazing what people take to the Goodwill.

I but the ScentPorts from Bath and Body Works when they're on sale, like someone else said. To make them last longer, I only plug them in when I feel like the house needs a little freshening. I usually always have them in when we have company. I unplug them when we go to bed, when we go out for the night, or if we're not going to be home (we both work 40 hours or more a week). I have had the current set of refills (that I am using now) for about 3 months and they are just hitting the half-full mark.

But how can we use something like this? Its the scents that bring on the asthma attacks here.
