Not sure if this is where this is really supposed to go, but yesterday since my DD was sick and I needed to pick up a Rx for her, I decided to go to the one drive-thru pharmacy in town, instead of having to deal with the one at Walmart.

And I got to thinking that this actually saves me MONEY!!

If I drop off a Rx at say, Walmart, I tend to shop around for the 1 - 2 hrs. while waiting for it to be filled. But if I can use the drive-thru pharmacy instead, I'm not tempted to pick up extra items!!

I use the drive-thru at Walgreens all the time. Not only does it save me money because I'm not picking up extra items, but the service is faster. They deal with drive-thru customers before they do counter-walk-up customers.

1-2 HOURS waiting for a Rx at Walmart? You've got to be kidding! If I drop off a Rx at my CVS, it rarely takes more than 15 minutes. Normally for refills I call it in & get it at the drive-thru, or if I have a paper Rx, I drop it off at drive thru, run errands, and come back for it. Why in the world would people wait 1-2 hours at a WalMart? I agree - not going into the store does save $ tho.

We only have 3 options where I live - Walmart, KMart, or The Medicine Shoppe (which has the drive-thru). Usually, I'll take a RX into Walmart, do my shopping, and come back an hour later for it...Although I HAVE waited up to 2 hrs. to fill a Rx there before!! (Note there are continuous ads in the paper for Pharmacists at both Walmart and KMart where I live.)

This was just easier for me yesterday, not wanting to take DD into Walmart. Poor thing was in tears because of her headache... But The Medicine Shoppe takes an hour to refill Rxs too. You'd think it wouldn't take that long - being a small town - but it does. I think I'll be using them more. Plus, it's closer to my house.

I usually use the pharmacy at the grocery store sine I'm already there often. I also found if it was just a prescription I needed filled, it was alot cheaper to use the drive through. I have also found that the CVS by our house will let me add something from inside the store (diapers) to my prescription to be picked up in drive through. That really saved from dragging 3 little kids into the store!

There's nothing worse than having to drag a sick child into a store to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy. When Walgreen's opened here, with their drive-thru, I was relieved and have used used it many times over the years.
