We moved in the fall and for the first time I have an actual laundary room that is well suited for hanging clothes. About a month ago I began trying to SAVE by running the dryer less and hanging more of DH and my shirts and pants. The pants have been fne but I have noticed that all of our shirts have HANGER MARKS urgh!! When Dh puts on his shirts they always have them and it drives him & I crazy!!

Do you ladies know how to get rid of them or reduce them? How do you hang your shirts without getting them?

By the way I hang them on white plastic hangers for Walmart.....

I had the same problem - I started clothes-pinning the shirt tails to the hanger to dry. If it is a stretchy shirt I drape it over a collapsible clothes dryer.

I use Downy wrinkle releaser. When dh puts his shirt on, I spray the (what dh calls hanger nipples) and kinda flatten them out and once it dries. Good as new!

That is hilarious!

The only way we avoid those - is by Using wooden Hangers!

I never use anything But Wooden with Dhs shirts wet or Dry.

I also like the wooden Drying Racks!

But even if you Hang a Dry shirt back on the plastic hanger it will form those nipples

Satin hangers work as well. I don't hang things dripping wet from them, but damp is OK. I have to say that I hang all our shirts and sweaters. I hate to fold shirts and since living on my own I've only folded a shirt to pack away in a suitcase!

What I've been doing is hanging them to dry then when they are almost dry, throwing them in the dryer on low just for a couple of minutes. That takes care of any wrinkles and hanger marks.

Also, I just read in a magazine about putting the thick felt tabs on your hangers to keep things from slipping off the hangers as well as stopping hanger marks. Not sure if it would work but I might give it a try.

I have 2 blouses that no matter what they always have those little indentions.

So what I do is just dampen them with a little water in a spray bottle (the one i use for ironing) and then take a blow dryer and dry them.

Works good, and doesn't take but a minute.
