I've seen recipes using Borax, but I am totally unfamiliar with it!
What is it?
Where do you find it?
Any favorite uses for it?
Thanks for your help!

It's in a lot of cleaners/detergents and can be used as a laundry booster (which is what I normally use it for). I buy the mule team brand borox...you can really find it in a lot of different stores, in the laundry isle.

Is it safe to use with Vinegar in the laundry or do you use it just with detergent?

I think it is safe with vinegar - i've never mixed them directly but I use Borax and Vinegar in my washer with no problem. I find the borax near the laundry detergent in a box.

Yes...you can safely mix it with vinegar.

Here's a recipe for spray cleaner with vinegar and borax:

Mix ½ teaspoon borax and 1 tablespoon vinegar in 1 cup warm water.
